Attorney James Meier
Jim Meier is one of Wisconsin's most highly recognized worker's compensation attorneys. He was selected by The Best Lawyers in America as the "Worker's Compensation Applicant's Attorney of the Year" for 2012.

Born March 20, 1949, in Janesville, Wisconsin, Mr. Meier graduated from Northwestern University in 1971 and earned in law degree from Marquette University in 1974.

Mr. Meier has a statewide practice in worker's compensation. He has represented thousands of injured individuals. He litigates worker's compensation cases before Administrative Law Judges throughout the State of Wisconsin on a weekly basis. However, when possible he attempts to help clients avoid litigation by achieving a fair and reasonable settlement of their worker's compensation claims without a hearing. Because of his statewide practice and reputation, Mr. Meier regularly receives referrals from attorneys throughout Wisconsin.

Mr. Meier has lectured for the State Bar of Wisconsin on worker's compensation topics and for the State Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. He has presented seminars for employers, self-insureds, and insurance carriers. He has participated as a member of a group of attorneys who met with the State of Wisconsin Worker's Compensation Department on an advisory basis.

Mr. Meier is a lifelong Janesville resident and lives there with his wife, Kris. He is active in many civic organizations.
